League Holds Appreciation Dinner in Honour  of Sambo, Adegoroye

The League of Maritime Editors (LME) has concluded arrangements to honour the Transportation Minister, Alhaji Muazu Sambo and his Minister of State counterpart, Mr. Ademola Adegoroye.

The honour for the two Ministers  is in appreciation of their hard work and  landmark achievements  within a short space of their stay in the Transport Ministry.
The Appreciation Dinner  slated for June 9 at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, will be chaired by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha.
In a statement signed by President of the League, Chief Timothy Okorocha and the Public Relations Officer, Mr Francis Ugwoke, they stated that the two Ministers  are being honoured in recognition of their   glaring efforts to move the industry forward since they were appointed.
According to the statement, “Sambo  focused on projects that will move the nation’s maritime industry forward” Among the projects, the statement added,  were  ports infrastructure rehabilitation, indigenous shipping development under which he got the President to approve the disbursement of the Cabotage Vessel Financing Fund (CVFF). Sambo  had on assuming office   also  promoted human capacity development both in the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA)  and  Maritime Academy Oron (MAN).
 Furthermore, “On assuming office, he moved to ensure ports efficiency and interconnectivity of agencies through the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) by  establishing   port community system  under a single platform.  He will be remembered for achieving so much for the industry after spending less than 10 months in office”.
The Governors of Lagos, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu , Taraba, Darius Dickson Ishaku   and Ondo,  Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu CON SAN as well as
The Emir of Muri in Taraba State, Alhaji Abbas Njidda Tafida and the Deji of Akure in Ondo State, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II  and captains of the maritime industry are expected on the occasion
