Beaming with joy, the young
Barrister Emuobonuvie Alfred Majemite, who had earlier in Asaba, concluded the traditional marriage rites at an elaborate and lavishly organised ceremony sat in the church for the formal wedding ceremony to former Princess Nkemakonam Onyebuchi Azinge.

At the solemnisation ceremony, at exactly 12:48pm where the couple declarred their consent, the Presiding Priest, His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Alfred Adewale Martins, the Archbishop of Lagos said God directed the path of the couple to cross and by the felicitations of His grace, the Lord also made it possible for the couple to become married couples today.

The priest described marriage as an institution established by God. He said some people go to amusement parks, etc to marry but the couple chose to consummate their marriage in the church show that they have invited Jesus to begin their marriage.

He urge people not to upturn the plan of God which is for man and woman to marry and congratulated the couple for inviting Jesus to begin their marriage.

He referred the couple to the wedding of Cannan which Jesus and the mother attended and the wine of the ceremony finished and then Jesus mother went to Jesus where the first miracle of turning water to wine was performed. He equally referred the couple to a book written in
1951 titled “Three to get marry” which talks about role of children, motherhood of Mary, etc. He emphasised that ” Three to get marry” means that Jesus is the third person in every marriage, hence he charged them to engage in prayers in their home. The man according to him is the Priest of the family but in most cases mothers have taken over that role.
” The least a man can do is for the man not to discourage the wife, if and when the woman is praying that role of the priest” he noted

The presiding Priest His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Alfred Adewale Martins, the Archbishop of Lagos urged the new couple to bring up their children in a godly way and to pay attention to love and patience.

He urged them to do whatever Jesus tells them to do as well as to bear with each other, demonstrate patience, and love each other so that many years from now those who witnessed the marriage will give God thanks for a wonderful marriage ceremony.

Present at the Church wedding are Her Excellency, , first Lady and wife of the Governor of Delta State, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, Hon Ngozi Okolie, member of the House of Representatives, Chief Mike Nwaukoni, the Iyasere of Ogwashi-Uku as well as the Chief Executive Officer, Migfo Group, Chief Grace Aghoghovbia, Justice Marshall Umukoro, former Chief Judge of Delta State, Dr Ovie Edomi, President of UPU, Badagry branch, Lagos as well as Publisher/Editor-in-Chief, South South International magazine.
